A land of variety

Texas is a land of variety. It has a varied topography. From mountains (though not tall compared to other places)and hills to plains and forests, Texas has a beauty all its own. In far West Texas, one will find arid to semi-arid conditions whereas in East Texas, one can experience more humid weather. The desert has a redeeming quality about it. The hot summer days are replaced with cool nights and crisp early mornings. As one travels east, he/she will cross the plains and then enter forest lands lined with beautiful pines and other varieties of trees.
Texas skies, especially away from the highly populated areas, are bright with stars on a clear evening. The vastness of the skies allow one to gaze in wonder for long periods of time.
A variety of communities can be found in Texas. From small to large, rural to urban--Texas towns, villages, and cities exhibit unique qualities. With distinctive histories and cultures, the flavor of each place is an exciting experience.
I have traveled to many places, but I am always happy to be back home in Texas--a land of variety.
