Wichita is a great place to raise a family. Lots of schools and parks. Cost of living is probably the greatest thing because housing is very affordable.
The negatives are that there aren't a lot of things to do except go out to eat and go the movie theaters. Of course there's the usual golf courses and bowling alleys but culturally speaking, just not a lot of interesting things to go see or do.
