All those "govt subsidy" people you speak of sure must spend a lot of time jamming the streets and highways during rush hour. Why is that? I've lived here for much of my life and find your claim about no one working to be utterly ridiculous. As for the police-- our "do-nothing cops" just spend all their time getting shot and killed and run over by jerk thugs while trying to protect citizens and stop crime. Of course, since maybe you don't read the news, you didn't know about that , eh? I've had extended visits in a large number of metro areas arond the country for my work, and I've not found a one of those that even comes close to being as pleasant a place as Springfield, in spite of its problems.
