Review of Fillmore, California

Fillmore is a great little town. Big enough to do all your shopping here from groceries to building supplies. Bigger needed items can be found 25 min from Fillmore in (Ventura, CA. Bigger city pop. 150,000) Fillmore population is around 19,000 people. It seems most of that population is Hispanic. You can drive down to the store on Central Ave and count the Non-Mexicans on one hand.
Jobs here are not abundant. Most new stores that open here go out of business quickly. The city is planning to build more low income housing for all the Mexicans in town. Citizens are concerned because it WILL turn into another ghetto scene. The town has low traffic, unless its rush hour on highway 126 that runs through town. People here are nice, but if you plan to live here you should learn Spanish. It seems Fillmore has grown a large percentage (Hispanics are up 11%) Non-Hispanic growth is actually -.91 percent. Weather is nice year round. Almost too much sun and nice weather! Sometimes you get tired of too much sun and wish we could have some other types of weather. Water bill is very high because of new sewer plant going in to accommodate all the new Hispanics moving into town.

Hispanic population is very high, I think it is 60%. Santa Paula however is 90%!
