The Garland PD has evolved into a very professional force.When I moved here in the mid 80s, it was ' cowboy cops'. As a volunteer I have worked with the PD and seen a dramatic positive change in the last 10 years. The officers use good discretion, our crime rate is low, diversity training has been emphasized, our chief does not tolerate bad behavior and these rumors of Asian drug groups only reflect TX and Garland's population struggle with TX racism and some economic jealously.Our crime rate is low and we rank thefts from open garages as burglaries - something most cities do not do.
