Review of Georgetown, South Carolina

Papermill Stench
Star Rating - 2/7/2010
Georgetown like many nice towns are ruined by the foul smell of these mills that not only polute the air but the water as well. Why there are not controls put on them is beyond me. Amelia Island, Florida is another example of a beautiful place compromised by corporate paper mill greed. Why should the citizens be exposed to this?

I believe you are the same Frank from Fernandina. You had a few snarky comments toward one review and told the to go back where they came from assuming it was New York?

The paper mill smell is not air pollution, it is an odor in water vapor used in the process of making their product. Like the pluff mud in coastal areas emits a sulpher smell, it is not pollution. I'm quite sure the 400 people there disagree with your greed comment as do the millions of babies that stay dry due the pulp they produce for diapers. You are from Wheeling WV. A dying town with no prospects of revival. When you point a finger, 3 more a pointing at you.

What you are smelling is the smell of money. It is not pollution. It is not unhealthy. The only issue with Georgetown is that it has a thug issue and there are lots of crimes per capita. Fortunately, it has restricted itself to those bad areas mostly.

I don't live in Georgetown, but spent a few days there on vacation in the summer of 2006. ...
