Review of Turners Falls, Massachusetts

Potential
Star Rating - 4/1/2006
Turners Falls(formerly known as Great Falls) is cursed by a great potential.
Some of the lowest housing costs in the Pioneer Valley. Half an hour to Amherst and Northampton. (The 5 College area in general PLUS Greenfield Community College) It's set right on the Connecicut River. 90 minutes to Boston.
A beautiful wide commercial avenue with wonderful architecture.
Unfortunatly there is little to no culture available except for the Shea Theater(again, great potential)
The economic boom has pretty much missed the area and the town seems to have done little to change the perception that it is a depressed community with a drug problem. (The recent addition downtown of subsidised housing for recovering addicts doesnt help)
