Has the potential to be a nice cultural town on CT river but still needs a lot of work to get there

I really loved living in Montague. I lived in the village of Miller's Falls, one of the five villages in Montague that includes Turners Falls, and I have yet to find anther area with such an unusual feeling to it. I loved going to the bookmill and sitting by the water reading books or drinking coffee and writing. I hope someday someone with a lot of money to throw around invests in the village of Turners Falls and helps it live up to it's potential. It may have a lot of skeletons in it's closet, but the town has great bones. There weren't that many rednecks in the five college area, I lived there for 16 years and rarely saw them living in Amherst and Northampton. You will find them up north in the sticks but I still found most everyone quite pleasant when you looked under the surface. Make sure though to research the schools before enrolling your child. I heard that Amherst High was good but my friend had to pull her daughter out of South Hadley High due to intolerably bullying.
