I really like New York, well do i have to go into it but I also can appreciate what Miami has to offer, beautiful "winters" and great outdoor activities, sailing, fishing, jogging in a nice park, etc. There's always something going on, you just gotta make an effort to find it unlike NY where you can just kinda walk outside and pump into a museum, theater, or live music in central

The beaches are beautiful, the weather is great, superb restaurants, the international flare allow one to meet interesting people, etc. But all that back and forth from the politicians is a way of life in the Florida and in the Miami area politics. Can't wait to leave Miami!!! - 6/24/2010
I've been living in Miami for 13 years and I can't wait to leave here. My issues with Miami:
1). The weather. I HATE HATE HATE heat and humidity and that's all I get here. If you like lots of sunny days and high humidity constantly, then Miami is for you. But for me, no way!
2). The job market. I haven't been working for nearly 5 months now and I've been searching and applying anywhere that will allow me to. I say that because MOST to all jobs say you have to speak Spanish to apply. Yes, the majority of the people here are Hispanics. I skip more than 20 job postings per day (that I'm fully qualified for) just because I don't speak Spanish. Even simple office jobs say you must speak Spanish to apply. Ugh!
3). Recreation. I honestly don't see the hype about Miami. There's nothing to do here. Sure, there's the beach and some museums. Other than that, NOTHING!

Miami is one of the most beautiful cities in the country, with its bridges and water access, clear skies and gorgeous beaches. It's vibrant with lots to do on any day or night of the week. Although locals complain about traffic, compared to LA, there is no comparison. However, after relocating here from Los Angeles nearly 6 years ago, Miami has gotten very expensive since we arrived and to make matters worse, the salaries are half of what they are in Los Angeles. This move made sense at the time, but the deal killer is that the taxes in the City of Miami are nearly 3 times ($7,000)vs LA and the homeowner's insurance is nearly 1,000 times more per year
