32836 Mark's beloved zip code - 8/8/2006
Hey Mark, 32836 has a crime rate? higher than 32818? Oh dear, this has to be an error. There is no crime in 32836! Oh please drive on Wallace Avenue and see your Dr Phillips High School kids. You don't have a clue.
Oh please tell me what was your

Crime ridden Orlando - 8/8/2006
For your information "Mark", Dr Phillips had a murder last month. You need to keep up with the news. Drugs related. They also found someone murdered in a car at Olympia High School. Keep up! 32819 is also Dr Phillips. I work in 32819 zip code and my company is located in Dr Phillips. We have seen an elder lady hit and run, purse snatchings etc. Face it, Dr Phillips has crime too. It is just hidden better. People only move to Orlando because they think it is a nice place until they get here and see how it "really" is. I know because I am one of those people. I moved to Orlando in December 2004 and if I knew what I know now, no one could pay me to move to Orlando. I am in the process of selling my house and moving. Police having their guns drawn at people's car trunks at Universal, What kind of place is this? When I tell people about Orlando they are in shock because they think that Orlando is a nice place, but I am here to spread the word about crime ridden Orlando. The way it is right

Tashekia: The Zip in Dr. Phillips is 32836 - 8/6/2006
If you want to check out the crime rate in Dr. Phillips, try using the correct zip code... it's 32836. Very low crime rate.... No murders. I've lived here for 7 years and have exp'd no crime at all, and I love it here. I would not go to "crime hills", ..I mean, Pine Hills if you paid me to. Check out the schools in D.P. also, all "A" rated. Orlando is like all cities, you have good areas and bad ones. I would love to hear from all the people who say are leaving Orlando, headed for better places to live. Where do they all go? Where is this magical city with no crime, low cost of living for all, no racial problems, no traffic and great schools and weather?
Let's hear from some of the people who say they are leaving, where are you going to? ...one guy wrote that Brooklyn, NY was where he was going! :) Good Luck! Orlando is a much better place to live vs the cities where everyone is moving here from. Otherwise, wouldn't people stop moving here.. and we all know

Don't move here - 7/26/2006
Crime in Orlando is outrageous all over. It is not only concentrated in Parramore or Pine Hills. It is only broadcasted more in these areas because they are predominantly black areas. You will find that Orlando is a very racist place. They try to portray all the white areas as low crime areas to keep the property value up in these areas. There have many home burglaries and murders in Dr Philips, Windermere, Metrowest, Oviedo, Lake Mary, and I could go on an on. No one wants to talk about this because they have a good image to portray and they need to keep their property values up. Don't believe me? go to Bestplaces.net (which is not biased) and type in zip codes and click crime rate and you will see the crime ratings. 1 example: Pine Hills zip code (32818) is lower than the national average and lower than Dr Philips (32819) zip code. Do this exercise with all those other places I mentioned and see what happens. I am getting out of this

Lesson in Frustration - 7/26/2006
Think long and hard before moving down here. Just like any other place there are some positives but the quality of life here is rather low overall. I'll start with what I like. In Orlando you can drive to the east coast in an hour or spend the day at the gulf beaches which are 3 hours away. The downtown area and airport is clean and modern looking, the weather is great from mid-October up until early April. From what I've read the employment picture here is OK with a low unemployment rate but most of the jobs are service related and center on the hotel/resort area south of the city. Unfortunately, though, I agree with some of the negative posts. The intellectual level and culture here is non-existant. Most people here would rather spend a couple hours at the gym or washing/waxing their low rider pick-up truck than pick up a book. Overall, people here seem quite shallow and self-absorbed and I've lived in other parts of the state, NH, Mass, TN, and NC. The drivers here are

A non-bias view of Orlando - 7/24/2006
The truth is alot of the negative views of Orlando are from people who have racist view (people who claim it's going down hill because of Hispanics) or narrow minded people. Yes the City has crime problem not unlike other major metro areas. Most of it is in the City proper or areas like Parramore or Pine Hills. But there are truly beautiful areas of the Metro. Parts of Seminole County, Clermont, Polk County. And yes Orlando has it's share of low paying jobs, also like other areas of the country, but also has higher paying jobs. I am in the IT area and get paid quite well. The area is always changing and growing. on't listen to small minded people who forget thier ancestor are not from this country and are quick to jump on other. It just truly shows how stupid people can
