Frederick, MD - 1/15/2007
Wonderful city large enough to have all you want with the convience of a small town atmosphere. Three major airport all within an hours drive, outstanding medical facilities in a 50 miles radius. Lots to see and do in the D.C./Balimore area. Wonderful four seasons.

Drawbacks include cost of housing which is high. Increasing traffic makes rush hour even in Frederick a Read More

Great town, cheaper housing than D.C, but great do - 6/7/2006
Great town. Within an hours drive of D.C. and Baltimore (depending on traffic!), at the apex of the two roads between them. Best of both worlds with a small town feel, but great downtown flair with shops and restaurants. A beautiful parklike setting downtown with waterfront restaurants. Great for families too...within 15 minutes of tons of state parks, close to the "country" atmosphere with mountain views, yet with an urban feel downtown if you'd Read More

Poor Infrastructure - 6/3/2006
Frederick has experienced massive growth in the past two decades. The result is overcrowded schools, inflated housing costs, and congested roads. There are very few decent-paying jobs in Frederick, and most work is found down I-270 in the Rockville/Bethesda/D.C. area. If you're considering moving here to work in these places, be prepared to spend many hours sitting in traffic. A 30 mile commute can sometimes take as much as 2.5 hours. Unfortunately, there are no viable alternative routes, and the primary alternate routes are just as clogged as the interstates. Public transportation is underfunded, inefficient, and Read More

Too expensive, too busy - 3/17/2006

It has become a suburb of DC, and to commute takes forever. Even to go from one side of town to the other is a hassle. Also, property is outrageously expensive.
Other than that, if you have lots of money and don't mind traffic, it's not Read More
