Growing Community. Great For Young Families. - 9/2/2018
Bay City offers low prices for homes due to lower population (Current lower demand). Years ago, the population was more than 3x as big due to big lumber industry, etc. Benefits to living in Bay City are not only low cost living in a lower populated area, but also offers plenty of nature (awesome state park on Lake Huron), plenty to do from great local restaurants, coffee shops, and pubs, and renovations happening throughout the city, especially Read More

Not one of the best places to live. - 12/5/2015
There are many pros to Bay City, it is incredibly cheap to live in and most everything is very affordable. The problem is that the economy is terrible and there aren't many well paying jobs in the areas, so most people are surviving on government programs or a minimum wage job and can't afford to even shop at Walmart. Read More

Michigan-Economically Depressed - 8/19/2014
Highest gas tax in the country. Gas tax was levied in order to get monies to repair Michigan's deteriorating roads, however, the monies have been used to try and save cities that are in debt like Detroit (just went Bankrupt). Detroit and Wayne County (Democrat Nut Cases) has and continues to be the single greatest cause of Michigan's financial problems. If your a true "Michigander" and know anything about politics here, you know the old saying that "All tax revenues one way or another end up in Wayne County (Detroit)". Wayne County has caused Michigan to hemorrhage financially for centuries now with no end in site! Wake up Michigan before it's too late!  Read More

An Interesting and tolerant place - 6/30/2010
First off I say tolerant cause when I was living here I was in my teenage years here and I am had a lot of anger Issues, First off the schools here literally offer every accommodation possible for people with special needs, one of the few places or only places that has a rock music box during lunch. Handy Middle School is the biggest middle school in the state or so they claim and they have a pool. This is a great place if you have lived in a small town most your life or a country setting town POP only a few hundred or several thousand but not so great and you will probably be bored to death if you have lived in East Lansing or Ann Arbor, or some of the other towns that are more progressive culturally (like the arts, festivals, bands preforming downtown, a lot of ethnic restraunts, etc) and have more job opportunities and more to do.

The people here are very nice and tolerant (though in general somewhat conservative) you will find a lot of polish people and culture here Read More

Boooooooorrrrrrrrrrrrriiiiiiiiiiinnnnnnnngggggggg - 7/19/2006
Unless you like living in a faux tourist town with no good jobs to offer and plenty of traffic from people living outside of your town and state, don't move here. The school system is poor, the economy has flatlined, and no end in sight. As a former destination for housing during the automotive and chemical industry boom, we have our share of housing to offer. However, nobody can afford most of it, because of how rediculously priced it is. We're touted by our leaders as a "world class destination" but the only thing I see we are is a "world class joke." For a tourist town, we have none of the trappings of a quality tourist town. We have a run down former Holiday Inn and across the street, we've built a new hotel/conference center and both of them are only at about 33% capacity at any given time. We have maybe 8 hotel/motel places throught the city and 1 conference center. Right now, city council and local builders are on a "condo craze" converting old industrial and early turn Read More
