Houston Trashing is NONSENSE - 9/10/2005
Yes, Houston has lot's of traffic, crime, and it is hot as hell...........but every city has this or that problem..........it's pluses are.........dirt cheap cost of living, nice, attentive people, and yes, the summer is HOT, but the winter is wonderful!!!!!...and you don't need to know anything about the oil industry to get a job here..........plenty of jobs in heathcare (largest medical center in the world), accounting, IT, and many other industries............I left that over priced, over rated , crazy people capital of the US hell hole called San Francisco and moved to Houston........I'm much wealthier and much

Too Hot - 8/17/2005
Houston is too hot, has tons of mosquitos and cockroaches. The traffic is terrible and it's true you won't get paid much unless you know someone who can advance your career. There are rednecks galore in the suburbs, but there are pockets of culture if you look real hard. Lots of gays and gay stuff in Montrose area, but over-all

Not that Bad - 8/16/2005
Houston is really not all that bad. This is coming from someone who has lived mostly on the west coast. Houston is HOT, which I hate and I during the election I hated to be in Bush-country...but despite the worsening traffic and construction, the city is improving. It has first-rate museums (MFAH, Museum of Natural Science), restaurants, and shopping. And it is cheap....let's just say that you get what you pay for in terms of heat, pollution and

Houston is the Arm Pit of Texas - 8/12/2005
I've lived here most of my life. I have yet to find something about Houston that is a compelling argument to live here. It's hot, humid, mosquito ridden. It is cheaper here (home ownership) than most places, but that's still not enough to stay. If you come here, don't expect to do any outdoor activities without risking your safety, either from the crime or the weather. You will live here wishing you were somewhere

What planet is this? - 7/25/2005
Been here 8 months and absolutely HATE it! Get me outta here! I've lived all over the world but this place has to be one of the worst. Unless you were born here, I can't see how anyone would want to stay here. And of course those who were born here, don't know any better to begin with. At this point, I'd be willing to move just about anywhere to get out of this

Houston is miserable - 7/18/2005
I can't go outside because the air quality is so bad. It's the fattest city because of this, the bike routes are unsafe and the parks smell of sewage. The art scene is uninspired and depressing. Houston has a diverse population but everything is unofficially

Avoid Houston - 6/17/2005
We moved here 6 months ago to be with family and are getting out asap. It is hot, boring and dirty. Homes are cheap, with good reason, why anyone would choose to be here is perplexing. Traffic is horrible as well. Not worth it, go

Its horrible - 6/17/2005
Why are homes so cheap here in Houston? Unbearable humidity, huge and prolific mosquitos and cockroaches, nothing to do, bad drivers, narrow roads and redneck ratio of 3 to 1. Also you will not get a good job unless you have oil industry experience. Avoid Houston at all
