Wesley Academy Review - 4/29/2015
We have been proud Wesley Academy parents for the past 7 years. This school is a fantastic, hidden gem in Houston! As a former teacher, I had high expectations in choosing a school for our children. Wesley has small classes, individualized instruction from caring teachers and a strong family-school connection. We feel like Wesley is an extension of our own family. Wesley does a beautiful job of weaving the Christian Faith into all aspects of our children's day. We love

The poor air quality and humidity can be overwhelming, as can the traffic. It is a convenient city, but not at all pleasant to live

"Considering moving to Houston, Austin, or San Ant - 3/31/2015
Hello,
I'm considering moving to Texas next year spring 2016. I live in Michigan and I hate it! The jobs are far and few in between, housing is cheap but the winters are brutal! I've lived in California, North Carolina, Illinois, and Virginia. I love living in the South. I'm a licensed cosmetologist and I'd more than likely be looking to work in a salon or a spa. I'm not married and have no children. I'm an outdoors kind of gal and I want to live in a safe and diverse area. I hear traffic is crazy! Well, having lived in five different states and I've learned traffic is crazy

in response to john about his Houston review - 3/1/2015
In response to john: I agree totally. As a member of the "tell lies about Houston to keep anymore liberals from wanting to relocate to Houston" club or TLAHTKALFWTRTH This city sucks. :)
The racist john thinks there are to many people of color - to much diversity. He is one of those northern whites 'who has education' and who feels guilty with other people's money - and hopefully now he is back in an area of the country where he is free to practice socialism.
Of course we have lots of uneducated people here. He and his ilk have been forcefully opening up our borders for the illegals and all the diseases they bring so they can win elections in perpetuity. He helps bring the illegals in and then complains about them. Isn't that just like a white liberal - whip the slave and complain they make too much noise when groaning? Texas and Arizona are the first stops in the illegals transit across America but it's not the final destination for many of them. Your

Houston or Chicago??? - 11/30/2014
Hi Everyone,
I know there are plenty of threads out there about which city is better. I don't think any city is better over another. It's a matter of perspective and personal taste. I'm thinking about moving from Chicago to Houston but there are some topics I'd like to discuss with people living in Houston and specially from people who have lived in Chicago and moved to Houston. Below is a list of things that matter to me and perhaps you can guide me to make the correct decision. Here is the list.
1. Salary/cost of living: I know Houston is more affordable than Chicago. But how do salaries compare?
2. Weather: One of the main reasons I want to run away from Chicago, it's way too cold for me. I grew up in Laredo, TX which is WAY too hot. People also complain about Houston because is way too humid.
3. Nightlife/outdoors activities: Although I'm not a party animal, I like to go out and meet people. I also enjoy activities like running, playing soccer,

ghetto swamp - 11/19/2014
It's no surprise that Houston has one of the most uneducated populations of any major (or minor) city in the U.S. Most of the people truly are ignorant and plain dumb.
Its a city filled with third world immigrants from places such as India, Mexico, El Salvador and Pakistan. I am one of the few educated white people that live here.
Besides the incredibly high crime rate, the drivers are horrible! Lots of hit and run accidents by uninsured motorists and anyone who dares to walk in their neighborhood should be very afraid. People here don't obey driving laws and dont care to.
People talk about the cheap cost of living. First, it isnt all that cheap anymore and second, if you own property, the property taxes are some of the highest in the natiom.
It is one big ugly strip mall. No charm or character at all. I am moving soon but thought I would tell people straight up the deal with Houston

ST THERESA CATHOLIC SCHOOL HOUSTON TEXAS - 10/27/2014
Do not send your child to this school. I am withdrawing my child from this school. My child attended for 2 1/2 years. The principal is very unprofessional, not qualified, and vindictive. She is known for bullying her staff and the parents. She got rid of my child's 3rd grade teacher 2 yrs ago because the teacher begin questioning her about missing budget money. The teacher was dismissed with 3 weeks remaining in the school year. The kids cried for the entire 3 weeks!! The principal placed the teacher under a "gag" order whereas if she communicated with the parents, students, or staff, she would not receive her remaining salary. I found this out from the "expelled" teacher. This year she threatened to expel my daughter, (who has NEVER been in ANY trouble) because she didn't like that I told her my child needed to go to her locker to retrieve her study guide for a test after school dismissal. I pay FULL tuition at the school and participated in multiple fundraising events. I
