What BestPlaces Users Say about California
California is known for its diverse landscapes, vibrant cities, and thriving economy. It is home to some of the most iconic landmarks in the United States, such as the Golden Gate Bridge and Hollywood. With a population of over 39 million, it is the most populous state in the country. However, living in California comes with its own set of challenges, including high living costs and natural disasters. Let's take a look at what people have to say about living in this particular place.
According to user reviews on BestPlaces, living in California has its pros and cons. One user, JohnD, highlights the state's natural beauty and opportunities for outdoor activities: "Living in California has been a dream come true for me. The weather is amazing, and there's always something to do outdoors." On the other hand, another user named SarahH mentions the high cost of living: "I've been struggling to make ends meet in California due to the high cost of living. Rent and taxes are through the roof." Despite the high living costs, many users still appreciate the state's diverse culture and career opportunities.
Another user, MichaelS, shares his experience with the wildfires that frequently occur in California: "Living in California has its risks, especially with the constant threat of wildfires. It can be nerve-wracking, but the community comes together in times of crisis." Similarly, JessicaT mentions the earthquakes and how it has affected her perception of living in California: "I always knew earthquakes were a possibility, but experiencing one firsthand was terrifying. It's something to consider before moving here."
In conclusion, California has its advantages and disadvantages for its residents. The state's natural beauty, diverse culture, and career opportunities are highly praised, but the high cost of living and natural disasters are also significant factors to consider. Overall, it seems that living in California is a mixed experience, and it ultimately depends on an individual's preferences and priorities.

Time for a change - 10/28/2010
I've lived in california for 38 years now and times are tough. Jobs are extremely hard to come by because of the economy, but that's true everywhere. California is one state to visit, for a few days, but not to live, at least not to me.

The truth about Racism in Northern CA - 10/11/2010
CA, Welcome and Surprise!!! It's the State's best guarded secret - CA is the most racist state in the US, and Northern CA is infested with (self-described) "drunk rednecks with guns" ... ignorant, and hell-bent on staying that way. Almost everyone, it seems, with a disabled plate, they really know how to milk the Liberal system they claim to hate so much - yet we see so many living off it. All these disabled wonders, athletic, working two to three jobs, enough energy left over to act out in their sordid little neighborhood hate groups... If they break a fingernail they know how to wangle State disability...no wonder CA is bankrupt, financially and morally.

Living in stockton ca - 8/15/2010
Yes, I must agree with you about Stockton, CA for I still live here do to the fact my mother lives with me and is a Kaiser Member. If it wasn't for that and the fact I work for her through IHSS we would be long gone!! So, far someone tried to break into this old house with a pocket knife and my good friend down the street stopped him. Then my neighbor across the street said she saw a couple trying to break into my car but because we let our dogs out for a potty break (around 2:00pm)it scared them off! Too many homeless keep pressuring you for money don't they know if we have money we would be long gone from here! The little change we have is just enough to get us through to the next pay period, some people have to use the cash in advance. It just isn't fair! My husband let our dogs out at 3:00am to go potty and a man sleeping under a tree next to our fence lifted up his head (spooked my husband) asked him for some spare change. Not too long ago a dead body was found next to the
