Annapolis, what its really like

Annapolis is a great town for divorcees and retired folk. A terrible place to raise a family. Public schools are very poor. Its very expensive to live here. One of the highest populations of people who are on subsidized housing. The city has million dollar homes right next to housing projects in Eastport. If you sail alot you will like it here. The neighborhood we lived in had 128 children eligable for our local elementray school...8 went...120 were either private or home schooled. The better private schools for elementary are hard to get into and expensive. Crime is a serious issue here..check the crime rates. The City Dock area is very nice and jammed most of the year. Annapolis peaked long ago. But if you like Hummers, BMWs and the very poor all side by side you might like it. Check Sperlings crime rates against other cities...With the exceptionof the Chesapeake Bay it has very few recreational opportunities, people here think shopping is a sport. thats all by me...!!!
