No shortage of housing in Arizona

Arizona has plenty of room to grow. There still remains many new home build sites throughout the state of Arizona. New home building is still thriving in Phoenix surburban areas and offering great incentives. The resale single-family home real estate market has transitioned into a buyer's market and at one point in February, there were over 40,000 homes active on the Arizona Regional MLS.
The inventory of available will most likely be decreased in the upcoming months, however even if reduced by 20%, a supply of around 4-6 months of homes will be available. This is in sharp contrast to 2005, where at times, the greater Phoenix area had about 3 weeks max worth of inventory available.
Of course, this will all depend on supply and demand. Currently, the Arizona real estate market has a great amount of supply and decline in demand. One thing there is not a decline in is shortage of housing in Arizona.
