want to relocate to Austin

I lived in Colorado for 10 years then moved back to NE were I grew up but it is too expensive to live here now. Would like to buy a house close to the real value. My daughter of 24 lives in austin now and says I should come to live most people are in there twenties I am single and in my 40s is this city too young for me? I like arts and culture and nice weather.
