Dothan advice

to all who may read this posting. some words of caution before moving here. my wife & i moved here from milwaukee, WI a little over a year ago. there are not many jobs available here. the city is run on old money & the current administration has no real interest in trying to grow the city to allow more revenue in. the people here are genuinely unintelligent-to the point that you'll have to repeat yourself time & time again because they either aren't listening or they just aren't getting it. if you enjoy small town living & have a love for peanuts (dothan is the peanut capital of the world) come on down. but, don't let the population numbers fool you. i grew up in a town with 4000 residents-this is comparable. everyone knows everyone, there is no commercialization to this town, and it has been my experience that because everyone knows everyone & because there is nothing else to do other than to go to one of the TWO wal-mart supercenters, people talk about other people & spread rumors. personally, my wife & i are looking for the quickest way out of this town. but, if you still decide you want to come to alabama (i'm not just speaking of dothan, now), while driving, be aware & drive very defensively. we have the some of the lowest education numbers in the country & the highest accident & fatality rates in the country.
