I LOVE Garland. I have lived here in the same house for 35 years. City services are very good, and the schools are excellent. We spend less than the average American city on education, but get more for our bucks! Our sons both attended Garland schools, and they are both successful in their chosen professions. Some of our grandchildren have had the opportunity to attend Garland schools before moving out of state, and they not only enjoyed the experience, they were placed in advanced classes in their new location.
We have wonderful parks throuhout the city that offer many special programs for both children and adults. Our Senior Center is one of the best in the Dallas area. I have never called the City about any problem that wasn't resolved promptly, and the customer service reps have always been courtious. We have two big lakes for people who like water sports, and wonderful shopping opportunites for anything a person could want.
I did not grow up in Garland - I'm not even a native Texan - but I can't imagine living anywhere else!
