Much to do...now

I've lived in Garland since 1979, grew up, graduated high school, and moved around on my own. Growing up, though Garland was an extremely large and populous suburb, there was not much to do when compared to neighboring suburbs. Garland was where people lived and/or worked, but not where we played. It wasn't until the relatively recent completion of the George H.W. Bush Turnpike that Garland (at least North Garland) finally became accessible to everyone else, and vice versa. Now there's shopping centers, restaurants, and theaters where there used to be nothing but residential areas and open fields.
