Review of Houston, Texas

It's no surprise that Houston has one of the most uneducated populations of any major (or minor) city in the U.S. Most of the people truly are ignorant and plain dumb.

Its a city filled with third world immigrants from places such as India, Mexico, El Salvador and Pakistan. I am one of the few educated white people that live here.

Besides the incredibly high crime rate, the drivers are horrible! Lots of hit and run accidents by uninsured motorists and anyone who dares to walk in their neighborhood should be very afraid. People here don't obey driving laws and dont care to.

People talk about the cheap cost of living. First, it isnt all that cheap anymore and second, if you own property, the property taxes are some of the highest in the natiom.

It is one big ugly strip mall. No charm or character at all. I am moving soon but thought I would tell people straight up the deal with Houston

The population is diverse, yes, and a proportion is uneducated. (Fight to change immigration laws if you are so concerned.) But there are also populations of highly educated individuals too, and many professionals, if that is what you're after. Crime rate depends on where you live. We walk around our middle-class neighborhood all the time. Make sure it is at least deed-restricted. Agree that people don't obey driving laws and get away with it. Cost of living is increasing but still very affordable. Ugly? It's not the prettiest city but then, upkeep is low. It remains a good place to save, in my opinion. I have paid off my home and go on holidays to pretty places twice a year. Much of the rest of the time is spent working anyway so it doesn't really matter how Houston looks like in general. And I make my home pretty. But I wish people would stop coming here. Traffic is getting worse and the big small town feel of Houston is changing.
