Pros and cons

Houston pros:
Housing is less expensive than in other major cities. The cultural resources are excellent. The city has professional sports teams, lots of good restaurants (although there are few if any great ones), and good shopping, as one expects in a large city. The winters are mild, and there is lots of sunshine compared to the northeast where I lived previously.
Houston cons:
Generally speaking, the region is ugly in appearance; it is flat, has too many billboards, too few trees, etc. The heat and humidity from May or June through September or October are brutal.
