Houston is my home- home sweet home

Obviously everyone is entitled to an opinion, but it seems that very few of the opinions really tell the whole story about this city. I would challenge anyone who has lived in an another major city in the US (or the world, for that matter) to not be able to create a pretty compelling argument for or against living in it. For example, generally speaking, most would agree that San Francisco is one of the finest cities in our country. Can you find anything negative to say about it? Sure. Can you say anything good about it? You bet. It's all just hearsay, especially if the realities of a person's situation wouldn't allow them to afford it in the first place. So that brings us back to the city I have called home for over 30 years. And yes, I have lived in other cities in the US and have visited just about every major city. Yet, I still call Houston home. Why?
I have no idea. This place is a hell hole..no wait, I wasn't going there. The truth be told, there are areas that are hell holes. Again..where aren't there? For those considering moving here, I can name any number of communities that you can live in, affordably, with good schools and nice neighbors. I would suggest to you Sugar Land (named the 3rd best small city to live in, in the country), Katy, Cypress, the Woodlands, Bellaire, Pearland, Kingwood. Guess what? If you want to live in a nice house with a yard, you will have to live in the suburbs in all likelihood. That sounds like every major city in the US. If you want urban dwelling, there are areas like Midtown, Montrose, downtown, the Med center, the Heights. There are plenty of places to live in this area from a downtown loft to a house on acreage. You just have to know where to look.
Ah, the weather. That seems to be the one constant in the con department. Yes, it is hot and humid here, as it is anywhere near the Gulf of Mexico. Ask people in Tampa or Miami how there summers are. It's hot. However, come October, when many in the northern section of the country are starting to feel the first hint of winter, we are getting to the start of 6 months of great weather as a whole. Yes, in January and February, cold fronts come in to let you know it is winter, but 2 days later, the winds shift back from the Gulf, and it warms up nicely. An average high of 65 degrees in January is nothing to not like. I will take a hot summer over a cold, miserable winter any day. That just may not be you.
What else makes Houston liveable? Diversity. There are festi
