H-Town vs Other States

I am an out of state Houstonian, and I love Houston. It is a city that has a lot to offer and very few things to envy from other big cities. I think that I got drawn to Houston becuase I am a "foodie" and an aspiring restaurant owner. I have many friends all over the continental United States and I think that Houston ranks at the top of my list when it comes to Housing. Buying a home or town house is a much more attainable dream to the regular Texan than in any other state. I have friends who tell me that they would like to come down to Texas just because they would like to start a family and be able to own a house. It may be that I have friends liviong in cities like Miami, San Diego, New York, Atlanta and Washigton DC. I think that these are all metropolitan areas that compete in size, population, and business (corporate headquarters). Overall I think that in terms of housing costs H-Town is at the top.
