Review of Houston, Texas

The heat is rough...

...but people make all the difference. Having relocated to Houston six years ago from the midwest, I never expected to like living in south Texas. I don't like the heat nor nine months of summer, but the people we (my wife and I) have been fortunate enough to meet here are engaging and sincere. There is still the pain of major city living, and the struggle with that will never subside. However, I suppose if you are willing to meet people and share yourself, the surface of the sun might be a nice place to live.

There is one thing about Houston that confuses people. "Cost of Living" calculators make Houston look cheap, but it is deceptive. In a city that considers a forty minute commute one way reasonable, housing is all relative.

I guess you got to pick your battles.
