There is Lot's to Do in Houston

I lived near Houston for 10 years and loved every minute of it. There is lot's to do in Houston. Great restruants and shopping. Galveston is near if you like the beach. Being in the center of the country, airfare is cheap flying to the west coast or east coast or down to Cancun. Cost of living is reasonable. Only down side is the traffic.
