This City Blows!

I have lived here my whole life until a few years I realized how bad this city really is. Everything seems dislocating and people do not like thinking outside the bubble. Downtown is really deserted and while Houston has theatres and such, it is not really surrounded by anything interesting to make you spend a whole day there. There is little to do in Houston.......it's boring as hell here. The clubs/night life is not centered for availability for many Houstonians.
Seems like Houston is for people with families, those who have Texas pride, those with kids, working opportunities ect. But if you want excitement, true entertainment and a vibrant city life, then you can forget it.
It is almost a requirement to have a car if you want to get around since Houston takes up more space than ANY city in America! Everything is so spread out that there is much social isolation in the city and driving around everywhere means more stress due to the traffic and the constant buying of gas. If you decide to live here, make sure that you are around places that you will need.
Traffic is HORRIBLE and nightmarish. If you must drive in Houston and avoid the traffic, find alternate routes on the road if you must. In the past few years, Houston has had the 2nd largest growth of traffic. This means that driving on the freeways in Houston is becoming more dangerous with the influx of dangerous drivers who love to tail gate and cut in front of people at high rates of speed. Even though most large cities have problems with traffic...........it is worse in Houston due to the almost non-existent public transportation.
All in all, it has its good points but being here as long as I have, it has worn on me and it does not refresh one's mind. Hardly any street activity, there are MANY other cities that boast real excitement instead of bragging about how many restaurants it has.
