I am writing to you from sunny California. That's right, I relocated from Houston to Cali. Let me tell you somethin brother, I would give all this freakin sunshine up in a heartbeat to come home!
Houston is not cheap, it is dirt cheap! But it is also a value, because of the museums, parks, schools, churches, community centers, restaurants, shops, visual arts, theatres and cultural diversity.
And let me tell you about the traffic, yeah it sucks, but there is FLOW. Over here in Cali, if you are stuck, you're stuck for up to an hour. Rush hour is all day! And yes it gets hot and humid in Houston, but over here in Cali, PEOPLE DIED THIS SUMMER from heat exhaustion. Not to mention the drought-like conditions. They wouldn't let me BBQ in my apartment patio because of fire hazards. Oh yeah, that's right, our food, BBQ, TEX-MEX, chinese, thai, it is sooo much better in Houston!!! AND CHEAPER!!! Houses, I was looking to buy a 3/2/2 in Houston, and looking to spend no more than 125,000. dollars. I saw a shack in this crappy suburb over here in Cali, #345,000 and only two bedrooms. People in Houston started getting rude before I left, but I just figured out where they come from, OVER HERE!
So Houston, I am missing ya, I am holding tight looking for a job. When I come back I will appreciate everything I had much more!
The only way I would come back to Cali is if I won the lottery, even then only to visit San Fran and LA.
