Dont let anyone make you believe that there is anything positive about Houston. It is a city full of open sewers and smog. People with asthma or any type of breathing disorder will have a terrible time. It is a very dirty city, and you see lots of poor people everywhere. Many buildings on them have barbed wire all over them because burglary is so rampant. For a southern city, it is very expensive. The prices here are much more than what I was expecting. It does not feel like a safe place. Every day on the news there is a story about a driveby shooting, or a home invasions going on in upper class expensive neighborhoods where you think those type of things shouldnt happen. Right now the news is covering the West Nile virus a lot because it is all over Houston right now because it is a breeding ground for mosquitos and whatever else is filthy and depraved. Property is cheap here, but only on the outskirts of the city where you have to commute 2 hours to get to Houston central. In short, I would not wish a life in Houston on anyone.
