Review of Houston, Texas

Still one of my favorite cities.
Star Rating - 3/26/2006
I moved to Houston in 1996 when I was 20 and only lived there for 5 years but loved every minute of it. I moved there from Colorado Springs, CO and actually enjoyed the change in scenery. Since I had never been to Texas before moving to Houston, I was expecting to see tumble weeds and dirt but was pleasantly suprised to see all the trees! I enjoyed the north-western part of Houston in the Woodlands or the Champion Forest area...I felt very safe and I loved all the trees! I did not have any problems finding jobs or dates. I loved the Texas guys and how polite but fun, they were. I've never as much fun on dates as I did in Houston. I was never bored; there are great restaurants, museums, shopping, sporting events and the beach isn't that far away. Of course no city is perfect, but I'm not going to waste my energy concentrating on what's not perfect unlike some of the other comments I've read. Michael, you said Houston didn't have a theme park...what is Six Flags Astro World?? John, if you're bored in Houston then you must have never gone to an Astro's game, Rocket's game or visited NASA or the Galleria. Raymond...I don't know where to start...maybe try changing your attitude and you'll be happier. Yes, Houston has it's problems, but what city doesn't. As far as the bugs, James has it right...if you keep your house clean, have an exterminator come out every 3 mos, you'll be fine. After moving from Houston, I have lived in Seattle, Boise, Denver and I am now living in Palm Springs, CA. I am now married to a News Anchor for ABC and because of the nature of his job, we will have to move again and I wouldn't mind moving back to Houston or any of the cities that I've lived in.
