Review of Los Angeles, California

Quality of life & housing is awful
Star Rating - 10/9/2005
We own a home in a nice area in the San Fernando Valley. Our housing costs are $2700 per month!!! THis is riduculous. You basically need a household income of at least $150k to live here decently. AND it takes two people to do that. There are VERY few $150k jobs per year here - even owning your business and making that much is tough. EVerything is VERY expensive here. The housing costs go up by 20% a year and the salaries go up by 3-4%. I also predict a lot of foreclosures in about two-three years and the public schools are awful!

Don't move here. Visit for the great beaches (which almost no one can afford to live near), but for a good quality of life this isn't it. We are looking to move. Just trying to find the right place for us.
