Favorite Part of Michigan

Petoskey, between Harbor Springs and Charlevoix, is in a trio of small northern Lower Michigan towns that exceeds the charm and sophistication of typical small towns. Ferry and rail service from Chicago in the last century gave the area an edge that complements its scenic beauty. I have lived and traveled widely, including many years in Washington State. This area reminds me me of Washington’s San Juan Islands, and contributes to my feeling home here.
