A Wonderful City

St Louis is something that you have to get used to. It is gritty like Milwaukee. It's old and the downtown is not an area that is used except for events, so disreguard the previous comments. There are incredible areas like the West End where you can walk, shop, eat and go in great bars just to meet up with friends. Fantastic martinini and wine bars. You can't get better food. You just need to know the places to go. Saucemagazine.com is a complete guide to dining in the city and sub.
The cost of living is very affordable. You can spend under $130,000 and get a great house in a safe area of the city. St Louis loves there sports, but that is a very small part of the city. You can find hundreds of bands playing by looking in the right place. St Louis is very open to diverse lifestyles. I have noticed very little prejudice in the city. I can not say the same for the county.
Overall, St Louis is wonderful. It is very old-school. The people are kind, employment is good, and cost of living is low.
