Complete hogwash from Nathan below. Sounds like you got into trouble with the law here. Yes, we are law and order in Carson City. Carson has a high quality of life and if your a outdoor enthusiast, this area is tough to beat for mountain biking and hiking trails, access to the forest and mountains and water sports in the nearby lakes. If the restaurants in CC are not to your liking, it's 20 minutes to Reno or Lake Tahoe for other options. This city is a treasure.

Better 7 years late than never. Carson City sucks. Things to do here: eat, drink, gamble. There's a few trails around, but when you consider how many people and mountains there are here, there should be much more to do. Worse than that is a horrific, disorganized infrastructure. The highways all have traffic lights on them, and we have double police; Carson Sheriff and Nevada Highway Patrol, both with budgets bigger than yours. This is an old city, only in the sense that everywhere you look, there's very, very old people, assuredly right in front of you. The restaurants are gross and of course you can still smoke in bars in this dummy state. If you're still in Bellingham and would still like to come to Carson City, I'll trade places with you. It's too damn hot here anyway.
