I lived in a studio($950) 2012-2014.I enjoyed being only 15 min bicycle ride from the beach. Neighbors did not talk to me. I was a 25 year old black female in the area and drove a cute mini cooper and worked at the getty museum. I was the only black person in the area. My white neighbors never talked to me. It was very lonely. I eventually moved back to New York to get my masters at NYU. I am sure the rent has doubled since then.
