Review of Los Angel,

Mar Vista
Star Rating - 10/2/2012
Mar Vista is adjacent to Culver City, Marina Del Rey, Palms, and some other neighborhoods in the west Los Angeles area. 90066 is quite expensive as regards housing, and it is common for people of varying backgrounds to share in living arrangements. But then, the place is culturally and ethnically diverse; and people tend to get along peacefully. The influx of Latinos continues and some sub-neighborhoods are strongly Latino. But whites, various Asian and European groups, not so many blacks live here. The beauty of this place, apart from the diverse co-existence and peacefullness is the weather that is infuenced by the nearby Pacific--cool breezes, little humidity, etc. But the weather, here like in the rest of the nation, has become intensively warm over the last several years. There are still some open green spaces where you can enjoy walks and such as along Ocean Park Boulevard and Barrington Avenue. Mar Vista is high to moderately populated. Many people also walk their dogs. Also, you will find blocks with concentrations of houses, as well as blocks with higher concentrations of apartments. Many UCLA and Santa Monica College students live in the area; and you will come across blocks of UCLA housing here. Thus you have a good mix of a young student population, a working population, those that are medium aged, and the elderly. I have been positive about this place for a while, although I wish the costs of housing would decrease. No wonder, as I now see on the stats, the population has slightly declined. That seems to be a reversal of the trend from the past. The cost of living is inevitably playing a role.
