No one is being unrealistic as they are being disappointed. I really liked living in several big cities. But, they had personality. Denver has some snobs, just as everywhere else, just not so many. The weather is nice. Crime, rampant and horrible. Roads: c- Traffic: d- Cost of living vs. what you get: c.....Denver is just a series of mini malls with the exact same stores every seven miles. Places that are generally not like that: Ft. Lauderdale, New Orleans, Seattle, etc...Also, raising a family here is difficult, financially and not dying on the way to work in traffic. It just lacks personality. It has gotten to the point that when I am out of town and some says they are from Denver, I first apologize, then ask what their plans are for getting out.
