Still a S____hole.
- 5/19/2019
I wrote a review of Charlotte several years back, and decided to write how things how gotten here since that time. In one word.....definitely WORSE. People come here seeing how beautiful and clean it is, but stay here a while, and you will get the true feel. Crime is soaring out of control with a record number of murders this year. There are shootings nearly everyday; even in "safe uptown". The traffic is even more congested, people drive like they're the only ones on the road, Charlotte has been rated #12 in the nation for aggressive drivers. Roads are even more torn up, even more random road closings. No improvement in the transit system; buses and even the trains will randomly have "technical difficulties" and just cancel routes. School system is still horrid, and all this town cares about is getting in more and more people than the roads, schools, hospitals, police and fire departments can support. Oh, but your tax dollars are going to build another stadium. If there

Too Suburban to be a city...
- 3/16/2019
Charlotte had potential before it let Big Box Shopping Centers and housing developments build the "city". If Charlotte would have built a city instead of Cookie Cutter Developments and Big Box Shopping Centers I believe it would be more of a vibrant, unique city. Instead it built same old boring crap that is off every exit across the USA. Charlotte is not a city it is one big giant suburb. Just look at maps of the area. It is filled with cul-de-sac developments and not city blocks. It is not a CITY that it advertises to

Not what I thought it would be
- 8/22/2018
I have been here for three years. I have found it to be very over crowded (and getting worse by the day), and not as inexpensive as it first seemed. The only plan that the city planners seem to have is to get more and more people in without thinking for a second about the infrastructure that can no longer accommodate the population. Apartment buildings and condos (as well as houses) are being built at an alarming rate, but the areas that they are built in have the same police, fire, schools, emergency services, and post offices that they always had. We sometimes get our mail delivered at 8pm and on Sundays! Think the post office is overwhelmed?
The health care system is extremely overtaxed as well, it can take a month to get an appt. with a doctor.
Looks like it used to be a beautiful city, but that has gone by.
Don't even get me started about the traffic. The roads can't handle the population, either, and talk about idiot drivers! It is not a question of if you

Very Underrated... but maybe that's a GOOD thing?
- 7/5/2018
As another reviewer posted earlier...
This city DOES remind me of a "young" Dallas... what with the Uptown, NoDa, Dilworth neighborhoods and the VERY impressive Light Rail. This city impresses me with it's walkability and urbanity as well as being fairly "clean" much like Minneapolis, MN actually. This is suprising b/c most cities of those sizes(and bigger) are not as aesthetically "pretty" and CLEAN too, which is a big draw for some! (it is for me)
More of a "southern" feel and less of that wannabe feel you might get in the Southwest.
PLUS, it's the banking (or 2nd behind NYC) capital of the

The Next Dallas...
- 5/15/2018
This city will be the NEXT Dallas.. Or what Dallas was in it's PEAK YEARS (minus the fact that NC has a state tax lol)
The Uptown Charlotte area is INCREDIBLE and really actually has/did "impress me". I own a condo off McKinney in Uptown Dallas and, even with that, the Uptown Charlotte REALLY impressed me
It's Dallas withOUT the pretentiousness and WITH the "Southern charm"
We will

Big mistake moving here
- 4/7/2018
We relocated from Miami mainly to escape the outrageous real estate prices and rude people. I researched places to move and decided to settle in Charlotte. We purchased a home and the school assigned is decent. There is not much to do unless you want to drive 1-3 hours to the mountains or the ocean. The taxes are extremely high. But none of this bothered me as much as to consider moving than the constant spraying they do in the sky. In the last two weeks we have had 1 day of blue skies. Planes are constantly spraying chemtrails and the sky is constantly overcast. The day starts off with the sky blue and sunny and then the planes come out to spray and completely ruin the day. After the day start to clear up all that crap they come out again in the evening. Locals either tell me they are used to it and others tell me its just contrails which they are not. This is not normal and it’s quite worrisome. There have been protests but nothing gets done. In a town close by to me called

Nothing to do EVER!!
- 11/8/2017
Unless you are drunk or 70+years old you will be content. There is nothing to do but drink and stay on your 5,000sq home that cost you 300,000. Lol
There is a reason WHY in big trendy cities that there is a lot to do the cost of homes are higher per square footage. I particularly prefer to live in a smaller home but in a city where there is LIFE!!!!! Not to mention the weather SUCKS!! There is no real winter or real summer because all you have is a NASTY LAKE filled with mosquitoes. All you get is a high in allergies season in the spring. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS BORING PLACE if you like the outdoors and like a city that is alive and plenty things to do. This place is BORING!! Way too many old people that all they do is drink or go to the

I am OUTA here!
- 3/4/2017
I've lived in this town for 26 years. Loved it when I came, but can't wait to get out. Charlotte is like a big shiny apple...which is rotting inside. Cheap housing, yes. Pretty, yes. Beware, though, of where you buy your home, because Charlotte city planners have a very funny way of slipping in low income housing into middle income areas, and sad as it is, end up having the value of your home plummet. What this town also doesn't advertise is the absolutely horrid school system, crime that is spiraling out of control (check the crime rates on this site; not very pretty!) Gang activity (yup, one of the gangs was featured on "Gangland" on the History Channel), heroin and drugs rampant (yes, it's in the high schools as an epidemic AS reported by our own news team, and it is due to the fact that Charlotte is a great "midway town" for drugs being run from Atlanta to Washington DC)) horrendous traffic with beat up roads that are always under construction, massive construction
