| 3/10/2012 | parent | I am extremely pleased of high standards of AIMS program of Outley. My son was there . Highly recommend this school. If you looking for good academics and self discipline and positive experience then it is a wonderful school. |
| 1/3/2011 | parent | We moved here from another city. It was a rough transition, and the staff was not supportive at all. The admin staff is very uncaring, cold, and always too busy to help the parents. This school will not let you see your child without an appointment. Many parents here are very unsatisfied with the staff, and are moving to private schools. My child gets great reviews from teachers, and has great grades. The only redeeming quality is that he has an caring teacher. I am moving my children from this school because of the staff, and the do not address parental concerns in regards to bullying. |
| 8/13/2010 | parent | My son went to kindergarten 09-10 here. He never attended pre- k or daycare and we relocated from IL. In the beginning the transition was very tough and we did not have a lot of support from the staff. They weren't very caring, helpful or compassionate for what he's been through and they weren't very respectful of me because Im a young single mother. His teacher was friendly and the former principle, current secretary is very welcoming. The school overall was average and we are in the Cy-fair district now (10-11). My son did like it so thats what the stars are for. :) |
| 8/24/2009 | parent | I like how the teachers and administrators walk my children to class and my children have been rewarded and they send home communication folders for me to sign. This is a wonderful school |
| 4/16/2009 | parent | In general I will say this school is good but I was expecting more since I heard that was the best school in Alief. This year my 2 children are in AIMS and they are new in only english program. The transition had not been easy for them and I do not see special attention to this matter. Safe and clean school but need more heart from staff. Lack of communication between school and parents. |
| 2/17/2009 | parent | This is our 1st year at Outley, both of my children are attending this school. I'm pleased with the 2nd grd curriculum and the great teachers. The 4rth grd needs more care, the school should also care about their none AIMS student. Coming from a private school bck ground , I think the tone that the teachers use with the older kids can be brought down a little and they should use some kinder words. |
| 8/17/2008 | parent | My daughter is a student at Outley. I was happy for the most part with the school. My daughter loved her classmates and teachers, and it costs only $0.75 for breakfast and lunch combined. One thing that concerns me is the fact that my daughter would go 1-2 days each week without PE or recess. The kids need to be taught the importance of daily physical activity, and I understand that it can be so hot outside somedays for recess, but they at least need to go to PE daily. They are obviously focusing on academics because Alief is a lower rated school district, but I wonder, in the end, how these students will rank as far as obesity and other weight related problems later in life. |
| 5/29/2008 | parent | My son attended the much sought after AIMS program. As a teacher myself, I was extremely pleased of his teacher Ms. Morgan. She set high standards, gave challenging projects and homework. My son was definately an active learner in her class. Best school in Alief. The after school program was extremely well run by the YMCA coordinator. Kids were busy with activities after completeing their homework. |
| 11/1/2007 | parent | I'm not satisfied with the teachers performance. My child needs extra help and I'm not seeing the teachers making an effort to make sure the curriculum is understood. They have no system set up to assist those kids you are slower learners. |
| 8/28/2007 | parent | This is an excellent school. My child is in the AIMS gifted program and I must say that her mind is challenged every day at this institution. She use to come home complaining about the work being too easy, but not anymore. |
| 8/23/2007 | parent | It's a great school. I m satisfied with my child's progress. I highly recommend this school. |
| 6/14/2006 | parent | Outely Elementary is the best elementary school in Alief district. My daughter had a positive experience with them. They are an awesome school. We have to move this Summer so my daughter will not attend this fall. |
| 5/29/2006 | parent | I highly recommend this school. My daughter loves it! I am impressed due to the fact that it is an Alief school and Alief is not a good district. |
| 5/27/2006 | parent | Outley is a great school, actually one of the BEST elementary schools in Alief district. Alief is not a good district but, Outley is wonderful. Highly recommend. |
| 5/26/2006 | parent | My daughter attented outley elementary since kindergarten and i must say back then, i loved it! the teachers seem like they cared and their academic programs were awesome. They involve parents in everything from, attending lunch with your child to attending parent night out and weekly pizza time. We will be moving this summer so my daughter will no longer be able to attend outley anymore. I have to say that the quality of the teachers seem as though have, decreased in terms of 'caring'. The environment have changed as well. My daughter started picking up bad habits. That's when i knew it was time to go although her overall stay, has been a good one. |
| 4/19/2006 | parent | Outstanding school, staff and teachers. Top notch programs including the district's Institute of Math and Science. I cannot say enough about this school's staff and the district's cooperation with students and parents. I am really thankful for this school and this district. |
| 1/10/2006 | parent | Outley is a great school. The principal is outstanding. Strict but fair. My daughter is in her second hear at Outley and we have been very happy with the school and teachers and curriculum. |
| 11/10/2005 | parent | This school is mainly concerned about test scores rather than teaching the child. Also the lack of walls forces the class to have to whisper all the time. There is hardly any parent involvement. |
| 5/21/2005 | parent | I am very impressed with this school. The teachers are warm and loving towards the children. Lillie Beth Wilson, the Principal, is a wonderful leader. She has hired a very impressive group of teachers. Look at the test scores of these children (School is ranked 'exemplary' year after year)! This team of educators has really figured out how to create a positive environment in which the children love to learn. I have 2 children that attend Outley. I am extremely pleased with their treatment and education. |
| 8/23/2004 | parent | Outley is a great school - very focused, especially on reading and language. My daughter was not born here and when she joined Outley's Pre-K, she was struggling with the English language. After only 6 months, her reading level improved significantly! My daughter loved school from day 1, and I think this is the most important: that teachers can pass the legacy of loving education and the pursuit of knowledge to their youngest students. Thanks Outley! |
