NOT BAD, BUT, THINGS ARE CHANGING - 1/21/2018
Moved from O'Side (lived there 25 years), too Fallbrook 2016. I had worked for U.P.S. And Delivered The Entire F.B., DeLuz, Rainbow and Bonsall area from 1990 thru 1996. During those years and up until about 2005, F.B. was a really nice town with a "small town feel" that offered acreage, low crime rates, good weather and a small population. Around 2000, many Mexicans came into town. Around 2003, many Guatemalans followed. Before the Mexicans and Guatemalans came, The Apartments, mobile home parks and all of the houses were occupied/owned by Caucasians. The Military was able to get of work and drive minutes to their rented apartments/houses. Now, 98% of the apartments are rented by the Hispanic population forcing the Military members to drive to Riverside County towns- about a 45 minute commute 1 way. The Mexicans are upset because the Guatemalans came in and took over their jobs. Most all mobile home parks are also occupied by the Hispanic population and, many of the Read More

Fallbrook - 1/11/2018
We moved here in 1995. It's a pretty place and has a small town feeling. There are many homes that have a nice view of hills. We are leaving this town for several reasons. It's not close to our favorite stores. We have to drive 30 minutes in any direction to get to those stores. I'm tired of driving, driving, driving. The good jobs are located south of here, Carlsbad, San Diego, more long driving and fuel expense. The churches are all right, but not to my liking, so more driving to get to the churches I like. There are a lot of very good people here. This town seems to best suited for the elderly. They do have some grocery stores and some (uninspired) Read More

overhyped - 8/15/2015
I do not understand why Fallbrook real estate is so overpriced - there are not a lot of high paying job opportunities like you find in other parts of San Diego County. Statistically the schools are mediocre and it appears there is a higher than average number of adults with varying mental disorders, along with crime, drugs and gangs. The proximity of Camp Pendleton bings some revenue into the area but the majority of the soldiers and civilians employees do not earn enough money to be able to afford a home in the area or contribute to the community in other meaningful ways. There appears to be a lot of pollution in the area and a higher than average rate of certain forms of cancer and other forms of illness.

Sleepy San Diego county town is a gem. - 3/29/2015
We have lived here for 15 years and have found this to be a very interesting place. It's a place you generally you do not pass through, so for the most part it is not a transient location. Due to it's location tucked back around the South East corner of Camp Pendelton, it has a permanent buffer zone of open space. If you need your space and still want to live in San Diego area, you might like this location. We are about 20 min from Temecula and 45 min from San Diego. So the price you pay to live in this area is bit more drive time, but not too much more. Good people here and we have a lot less crime than our neighboring cities, Oceanside, and Vista. Although we still have about 700 or so gang bangers, they "generally" are not a problem for locals. Sheriff keeps them on a very short leash. Fallbrook has a very small downtown that rolls up the sidewalks when darkness comes. Some negatives about Fallbrook are: Camp Pendleton noise at times. Artillery fire can be really loud at times. Read More

Rating = Zero - 8/27/2013
Well, after only two years I will be moving. I wasn't aware the noise was 7/24/363. Our lives have been too disrupted from losing our dog impaled on the window to my son and I losing so much sleep we cannot function in our daily lives. I would encourage anyone who is considering vacationing, visiting or moving to Fallbrook for the peaceful, friendly town to run as fast as you can in the other Read More

A war Zone - 7/22/2012
We love Fallbrook, problem is, you might as well live in a war zone as in Fallbrook. The Marines are not good neighbors, they destroy the tranquility we moved here for, damage our homes with almost constant explosions from bombs and artillery shelling. Fallbrook residents tell stories of dogs jumping through glass windows trying to get away from the ground shaking and the noise.

Helicopters fly over our homes, props pitched at angles that cause popping sounds, the windows in our homes rattle and shake. Mothers tell of their children being woken from sleep afraid and crying . It is impossible to have a conversation while sitting in our homes when helicopters fly over even, the simple pleasure of watching a television program is impossible.

Compounding the problem, unformed locals, refer to the problem as the sound of freedom. I have lived here since 1976 and still enjoy the ever decreasing quite of a small town. The Marines have huge amounts of land East of Read More

It's a great time to buy a home in Fallbrook - 7/20/2011
They call Fallbrook the friendly village and at the moment the home prices are very friendly too. Whether you are interested in a home under $500k or over, there are some incredible deals if you are looking to buy a home in San Diego, County. Fallbrook, California is located in the North County of San Diego, approximately 18 miles from the Oceanside harbor. The climate is great and most of the homes around $500k and up are situated on one acre or more with many of the home having great views. In today's San Diego market Fallbrook has by far the best deal in all of San Diego County for a luxury Read More

Nice but insulated - 6/21/2009
Churches in Fallbrook seem bible oriented and nice, but also insulated from the realities of the real world. When in NYC, I was told coldness is a part of large city churches; smaller towns would have churches which are warmer and full of love, but to my dismay I discovered that was not true. In fact, some churches in Brooklyn sounded more Christlike than those in rural areas in California. Fallbrook needs a re-awakening. Barring the coldness and the insularity of the churches, they were otherwise quite nice I thought.Read More
