Orlando, Florida is a popular tourist destination known for its theme parks and warm climate. However, many people also call this city their home. With a population of over 2.5 million, Orlando offers a diverse community and a plethora of job opportunities. However, like any city, it also has its own set of drawbacks such as high humidity and traffic congestion.

On the other hand, Michael Johnson shares his experience of living in Orlando and states, "The cost of living here is high, especially housing and insurance." He also mentions the "long commutes and traffic congestion" as major downsides of living in the city. Lastly, in a review by Emily Jones, she mentions how "the food scene in Orlando is amazing, with a variety of cuisines to choose from." She also appreciates the "family-friendly atmosphere" and the "constant events and festivals happening in the city." Overall, these user reviews highlight the positive aspects of living in Orlando such as the weather, economy, and culture, while also acknowledging the challenges of high living costs and traffic.

orlando area w/ no crime! - 4/15/2007
The crime in Orlando really is concentrated in certain areas for the most part. I live in the Lake Nona area (South east Orl) & the crime here is almost nothing type in 32832 for a zip code on this site and see 3& 1 below national avg. And no I don't live in an expensive gated community or in Lake Nona itself I live across the street in the neighboring zip code. I just wanted to post this for anyone moving to the area who might be concerned about crime you really are safe here. I was just out of town all week & noticed I had accidentally left several windows unlocked & had forgotten to ask my neighbor to p/up my mail, I had a package on my front door & it was obvious we were gone for days. Nothing was missing! If you're moving to orlando just look at this area & don't get worried by the hype about Read More

Regarding Matt's comments of Pgh. - 3/15/2007
~~ YEAH Matt...that's what I'm talkin about! Ditto and then some ...sounds like you're stuck in the West, as I once was. My impression of Calif. Arizona, Colorado...~ massive sprawl, oatmeal like conformity, lack of "personality"...ohhh, did I miss the burgh BIG time myself. Living in another place now...STILL long for "home". There's a diversity, warmth and character that is simply not found...anywhere else. I hope to return there...someday, permanently...but for now, at least I'm living closer to it than ~way out west~ as I once was. Go Stillers!! :)DonnaRead More

If you speak only english, you would not like it h - 3/3/2007
Orlando, has changed for the worst! I have lived here since 1982. It used to be a very nice place to live and raise children, but not anymore. I saw the change 8 years ago. Everyone from Miami and New york have move here and brought the CRIME with them. If you speak only english, forget finding a good job. They want people whom speak spanish and english now. It seems the jobs pay has decreased and cost of living has increase. You need a four family income to keep your head above water here. Crime is everywhere. Homes prices are high, taxes are high and your home insurance is very high. The people are very, very RUDE! I'm moving out of Florida this year, because I can't take it anymore. Orlando is a smaller version of Miami. It's Read More

Finally found the Orlando I was looking for... - 2/1/2007
I have lived in Orlando for years and have seen quite a few changes. Yes, crime is on the increase and it is more violent. It must be addressed for all of the citizens. But it is all relative for a native Bostonian. Yes there are a lot more cars on the road. But this seems to be a complaint for nearly all of my friends and relatives all over the country (from Portland, OR, Charlotte, NC, Manchester, NH, Phoenix, AZ, etc). To my point...I just moved to Lake Nona - the extreme Southeastern corner of Orlando. It is paradise in Central Florida. Treelined streets, lots of great places to walk, neighbors you get to know and who actual wave and say "hi", very, very limited traffic. The best part? Kids actually playing in the playgrounds and backyards. I feel like I went back 30 years to the suburbs of Boston. Don't give up on Orlando until you have checked out Lake Read More

Want to live in a city with one of the highest cri - 1/3/2007
If you're considering a move to Orlando please make an informed decision. Orange County, FL racked up 64 homicides in 2006 - 49 of those being in the city of Orlando (the remainder occurring in the unincorporated areas). Oh, and I probably should add that in the first 3 days of 2007 we've already had 3 more murders here....off to another great start. Why people keep moving to this overpriced, crime ridden, hellishly hot place is beyond me. I'm happy to be moving out of here this Read More

ALL of Orlando is full of crime! - 12/25/2006
I see many arguements as to which neighborhoods are worst and comparisons to one zip code to another. WHO CARES!! Orlando as a whole is in real trouble there have been almost 60 (by the time anyone reads this maybe over 60) murders this year in Orlando. Its insane how people in this city disregard human life. And drugs are everywhere no neighborhood is safe. Stop pointing fingers, if you want to make a difference here join a neighborhood watch. But see this is where the problem comes in...NO ONE wants to even talk to their neighbors here let alone join a watch with them. This is how crime becomes rampant in cities. The people here have this nasty attitude towards each other. If you say hello they either roll their eyes or ignore you, hold a door for even an old lady..she won't say thank you. If there is an accident on I-4 no one will stop to help they would rather stare and hold up traffic. There are homeless people everywhere in the downtown and people just pass them by like human Read More
