Best Place to Retire - 7/10/2010
I have lived in Vegas for over fifty years--almost a native. Some of the comments posted are from folks that wouldn't be happy any place they live. The world is a mirror of our state of consciousness; therefore, take that in mind for the negative comments made about Las Vegas. High unemployment is a reality here, however, the housing is extremely low for persons interested in investing or retirement. I'm talking about gorgeous homes at ridiculously low prices. This city has the finest restaurants on the Strip and off. We have the finest and most diverse shopping malls/stores. Per capita we have the most churches and spiritual houses to choose from. Education gets a hard knock because many of the children come from families where English is the second language--it takes the kids longer to acclimate. Our Review-Journal newspaper recently reported a decline in crime during this recession--probably due to a slow down in construction which does bring in a lot of transients. When Read More

las vegas must be used foe nuclear teasting - 6/30/2010
Absolutely the worst city in the country, the education is the worst or closest to the bottom, crime well it's crime, no services if you need them, a city where you need a car, busses cost too much, oscar goodman should be tryied for treason, economy is in the toilet, highest unemployment, the gaming companies don't want to pay taxes, I've lived here 4 longest years of my life and would choose south central l.a. To live now, the city kills marages, it's too right wing for as much union work, pay sucks just 40 hrs a week I took pay cut to $8.25 for high stress security job, it does have nothing going for it, and wish a fate worse than detroit, the police corruption is one the worst, I have liking of this worst cities in the world Read More

Living in Las Vegas - 5/24/2010
I moved here 17 years ago. Still loving it. It has everything I want to do and I like the desert climate. This place has grown from less than a million people to more than 2 million while I've lived here. Wow! I got lucky and got a great housing location. Dr, dentist, grocery, lawyer, finance consultant, animal care, fast food, fine dining, movies, parks and every kind of recreation withing 3 miles. Read More

Living in Las Vegas - 5/11/2010
Living in Vegas has been very different from visiting it. You find that you miss the seasons until you go back to visit Colorado then you find you can't get warm and are thankful you live in Vegas now. It's close to CA so every three months we go to San Deigo and relax. We have come to enjoy the brown mountains.  Read More

A lot of people are buying up foreclosures here, but the real value is in the new homes. The developers are anxious to sell units, especially the ones they have already bulit. We bought our home last year at Rhodes Ranch, on a golf course with amenities for less than what a foreclosure would cost with a lot less hassle and a warranty. Our HOA due are only $120 a month with no SID's.  Read More

traffic like no other - 4/5/2010
the traffic in vegas is very fast and dangerous. i witnessed it while my boyfriend would drive me to see the town but it wasnt untill i got a taxi ride home from a night out that i realized its not the traffic its the people behind the wheel of most vehicles are in such a rush they show no consideration to anyone or anything. people are so into themselves here its crazy. this is the cause of all the wrecks in my opinion. vegas is no place to live because of the traffic. this is why ive been here for almost 3 months and want to move back to california already. its nice to come visit for a weekend but definatly not to live Read More

not vegas anymore - 4/1/2010
I moved here from OK 2 yrs ago to get my career as an elvis impersonater. Vegas has changed so much that elvis is not really a job here.with that said, I'm still working the same job with walmart witch really sucks by the way. Elvis impersonaters beware.so any of you think vegas the elvis town think again. not indemand in vegas.and strip is nothingbut a big big shopping mall with gambling.now for the ladys with no standards, skys the limit here for making big money as a stripper.one more thing, most young folks here are for the money. All types of poeple here are not from america that don't speak engelish. That's right,75%,asians,mex,areab,and in between. Just about eqaul of each.so if you plan to move to vegas, plan on high prices, strange people, slow drivers, very high car insurance, and much more that I hate to think. Vegas is built on very bad luck for some but have no mercy on them.vegas it self is cool but the people have an I q of 50.you can make big money here but don't Read More

Have to Learn the Hard Way? - 3/29/2010
I just found this site and am so relieved to have done so! I have lived in Las Vegas after relocating from beautiful Phoenix a year and a half ago. In Phoenix/Scottsdale I was a Bodyworker, Yoga Guide, etc. I moved here to expand my business through the major resorts so I could spend more time with my then 3 year old who has ailments and is often in hospital or ill. I was losing money in Arizona that was difficult to recover due to my child's long illnesses. I thought coming to a 24 hour city would help my bottom line and permit me to maintain my dedicated role as a mom. I couldn't have been further from reality in thinking this...and expecting this as a solution.

What I found instead is there lies a terrible desire to take advantage of those who are unaware of the real truth that exists in Las Vegas. It is truly weird to be in a place where everyone who is not in a hub or can be identified as being such becomes a part of the food chain in zombies eating humans Read More
