i hate las vegas - 1/24/2010
las vegas is the worst city on the globe to live in. The dumb sleezey rude selfish hustling jerks that live here are awful. The environment is awful, the bottom of the barrel in every catagory. Zero intelligence, culture, health, safety. Anyone telling you otherwise probably has $ to gain from

Danger Should Be Las Vegas Middle Name - 1/16/2010
Sin city is correct. It is a good place to avoid. Vacations are good here, but living here is horrible. I see so many car accidents daily. The speed limit is so high just driving down a small block. The people are VERY mean. Nobody likes to talk to each other because you cannot trust people here. Vegas has to be one of the worst places to start a family. They have porn magazines all over the streets, with naked woman on them. The housing all looks the same and way to high

Sin City - 12/16/2009
Las Vegas, NV is not the worst place on the planet to live, and if you had to I would say one of the easiest places to make a living. Yes, people are losing their jobs as they probably are allover the country, but with effort and a little knowledge someone can get a job pretty much off the street making enough for a small rent and food which at the end of the day is a living.
Now with that said would I recommend anyone to live here especially with a family.....NO WAY! Its called Sin City for a reason. Most people you can say hi to and they will probably say hi back, but this is a town where many people here have mental instabilities. This town has a very low education rate, the schools here for the most part are awful, and its a town that is built and designed on self indulgences.
Las Vegas is built on its Casino industry one in which I work in and have personally been around for 8 years now. Yes, you could live away from the strip most do but you're still

Las Vegas is high and dry - 12/6/2009
The climate is great: hot and dry as you would expect for the desert. But dry is an under statement as I have witnessed rain 3 times in 5 years. Winter is very mild. I own a jacket but no coat. The heat is dry so it feels cooler than it is. The best way to describe it is set your oven to 120 degrees then stick your head inside. Perspiration is minimal so good hydration is a must. It snowed once. That was

Living in Las Vegas - 12/4/2009
Since I have spent most of my life in Las Vegas, Nevada, I believe my opinion matters. Especially regarding what it is like to grow up as a child in this city. I do not think this is a great place to raise a family. There are some places to enjoy, such as Mt. Charleston, Red Rock, & Lake Mead. If you cannot afford a house with a pool the summers are brutal. As a resident, one does not experience the shows in the casinos, as our tourists might assume. There are many "suggestive" adds, everywhere and it is a transient city. People from everywhere around the globe come here to enjoy what our city has to offer. Even that can sometimes be dangerous. Many young women grow up wanting to be that picture on the signs, quick money. I have seen many locals struggle with gambling, drinking, clubbing, and so many more addictions. As a resident temptations and the means to fill them are always lurking. Exposure to many things at such an early age has a profound affect on a person. Modesty is

Sin City Sucks! Not Worth It - 11/11/2009
I lived here for three years and was a bartender at a casino and got laid off twice, and you have to start off as an extra-board on-call employee for any casino position like dealers or beverage staff. I know cocktail waitresses that have to work as escorts because they rarely get called in for work until they have enough seniortity which takes about 3 years. I've showed up at job fairs and waited in line for 6 hours before because everyone is chasing the same peice of cheese. Not a lot of diversity in the occupations, everyone is either a bartender, waitress or dealer. Every girl I met from the gym turned out to be a hooker or was at one time, the money is too great for them to pass up. There aren't any goodlooking females who are secretaries, etc. every woman here is making a living from her looks because nobody here has any education. Losers from all over come here for fast money. Everyone is into some kind of scam or con for money, not just the bums, but everyone. People from LA
