City lost in time - 4/5/2008
Although Houston is a metropolitan city, it does not have a city-minded culture. Public transportation is obsolete and in need of upgrade. However, the citizens welcome the big city feel, but without the thrills. They still want to be stuck in the traditional way of

Put Cypress On The Map - 3/28/2008
The list of cities did not include my home town, Cypress, TX. Cypress is undoubtedly one of the best spots to live in the Houston area for sure, but I'd venture to say even in the state. Cypress is a small but quickly growing suburban community just outside Houston located along Hwy. 290 North as you head up to Austin. Once a farming community, Cypress has many, many horse properties and is located along the scenic banks of both Big and Little Cypress Creeks. As housing subdivisions have blossomed, so has the retail sector of our fair town bringing with it trendy boutiques, posh eateries, and incredible housing options. If you don't care for subdivision life, then there are plenty of ranchettes or estate homes within Cypress to choose from. Small 1-10 acre homesites abound without having to get too far away from the reality and necessity of commuting routes. Best of all the schools in Cypress are top notch. Residents are involved in community and school activities and there is

Growth... - 2/27/2008
Houston continues to grow which means bulldozing the remaining trees to make room for more strip malls and houses. It has some lovely parks and neighborhoods but no planning, or so it seems.
The best thing about Houston is the people...it is trully a multi-cultural city which is reflected in the arts, sports, festivals and

Do not raise your children here - 1/9/2008
My husband and I are both educated professionals and have lived in Houston for over 15 years, however we want out. The only thing keeping us here is the only posative thing Houston has to offer, great money. There is so much money to be made here but with that, it brings scam artist out of the woodwork. Overall everyone here is so single minded and focused on making alot of money they are self-centered, untrusting and unfriendly. This is by far the city with the meanest uncaring people I have lived in ever! I have lived many places growing up including Europe, so when I compare Houston to other cities I have alot to draw on. Houston would also hold the distingtion of being the largest most boring city with the least amount of things to do! Oh and did I mention other than the fact a large part of Houston has beautiful new construction everywhere, the actual geography is flat (rice fields converted to sub-divisions) and completely unimpressive. To add to this the "great" weather,
