People not Friendly

I agree with much of what the Moving out of Boston 5/29/06 post said. I moved away from Boston in Q4 2005 after nearly 6 years there (from Maryland). We found people extremely unfriendly, bitter, and depressed despite all Boston has going for it (economy, sports, day trips, attactions). We also found it nearly impossible to make friends there. Very many self-centered, prima donna types focused on status and power. Now, we have more and better friends here (Roanoke-Blacksburg, VA) afte only 7 months than we did in Boston in 6 years. Never, ever again.
