Review of Houston, Texas

Put Cypress On The Map
Star Rating - 3/28/2008
The list of cities did not include my home town, Cypress, TX. Cypress is undoubtedly one of the best spots to live in the Houston area for sure, but I'd venture to say even in the state. Cypress is a small but quickly growing suburban community just outside Houston located along Hwy. 290 North as you head up to Austin. Once a farming community, Cypress has many, many horse properties and is located along the scenic banks of both Big and Little Cypress Creeks. As housing subdivisions have blossomed, so has the retail sector of our fair town bringing with it trendy boutiques, posh eateries, and incredible housing options. If you don't care for subdivision life, then there are plenty of ranchettes or estate homes within Cypress to choose from. Small 1-10 acre homesites abound without having to get too far away from the reality and necessity of commuting routes. Best of all the schools in Cypress are top notch. Residents are involved in community and school activities and there is clearly a sense that people care here. We are friendly, big-hearted, and love to get to know our neighbors. If only the summers were a little cooler and the mosquitos would abate every once in awhile we would probably call our home in the pines paradise. Come visit soon!

You must be joking. Cypress is astoundingly boring. Especially when you're a twentysomething singleton, there's simply nothing to do. Sure, there's a couple of places in downtown, but who wants to commute for 1.5 hours each way just to visit a couple of bars?
