Review of San Antonio, Texas

Reverse Discrimination
Star Rating - 12/8/2010
I would like to talk to white people in the area who have been on the receiving end of reverse discrimination in the San Antonio area. I have talked to many people and hear different things, and just get the feeling the whites don't like to talk about it.

Would you please write me at rene789@yahoo.com. I would also like to talk on the phone also.

I went to graduate school in San Antonio in 1976 and even then bilingual capability was typically required to work downtown. The population was 51% Hispanic, with many families predating the Texas Revolution. Texas was, after all, Mexico at one time. I loved San Antonio but found it necessary to relocate after graduation to find work, not due to language issues but due to my field being saturated by retired military willing and able to work for less. That's just life.

Rene, I lost my job last year in the San Antonio area after being there for 9 years due to a corporate buyout. I have since had trouble getting another job because I do not speak Spanish. At least 60-70% of the jobs that I qualify for (if not higher) would require me to speak Spanish. I thought I lived in the USA and English was good enough but not here.
