Been to Boston many times and must say that the weather is schizophrenic. You will get everything in the timespan of a week and I believe this affects brain chemicals, sunshine is best as a natural anti-depressant. There is definately an inferiority complex here, people seem to take things very personal, from politics, sports and socio-economic status. Housing is outrageous and traffic congestion has LA, NYC and Phoenix trumped. Don't get me wrong, there is enormously fascinating history, traditional architecture and some of the best schools in the country here, however, do your "homework" before chancing a random move here. I would suggest a place that is more "down to earth" and civil, although that is vastly becoming a thing of the past in America. Maybe Portland, OR, Austin, TX or just outside Raleigh, NC. Good luck!
