New Orleans is Not for Civil people - 5/30/2021
The city of New Orleans is a hell pit. For starters it’s ranked as the Most Corrupt, One of the top heavy crime areas in the nation. Murders are common. Drugs are out of control and so is the poverty rate. So the person saying it was one of the most friendly and positive cities, sounds like it’s a city official or someone too dumb to see reality. The place ranks poorest, least educated and a host of other lows, I think someone already pointed that out in other reviews because thats FACTS!

The mayor Latoya Cantrell is too busy keeping businesses shut down to even care about the crime or any of the city’s major issues. Pot holes are everywhere, the flood prevention measures are NEVER up to date because the funds that are supposed to be for upgrades to the infrastructure end up being stolen and misused by the Democrat run corrupt machine there.

EVERYONE has their hand out there and is on the take. The mayor destroyed countless small businesses and families and Read More

Most Friendly, Positive City I’ve Ever Lived In! - 9/24/2020
I’ve lived here for four years and plan to stay forever. What it lacks in infrastructure and weather, it makes up for with a sense of adventure, community, a multicultural population, friendliness, community and fun. I’m from New England, but New Orleans is my favorite US Read More

not bad - 12/21/2019
alright well, i dont know the city well, but here are some of my impressions. i had just come from ny, so i was used to people being very rude, so needless to say, new orleans seemed friendly. people greeted you, and generally are helpful. again, coming from ny, it was heavily segregated. white people socialized with whites, and blacks with blacks, but in new orleans, it seemed that blacks, and white associated with one another. you also get better bargains in new orleans. you can get a bufet on weekday lunches for only $10, but in ny, you only get a steak sandwich for that price, and not even a good one. the one major disdvantage nola has is that it is too hot, and wet. hotels too. in nola you get big nice rooms, whereas in ny you get small old rooms for $100. the downtown new orleans area seems to have a lot of thugs standing on the street, maybe even more than ny. when i saw that, it reminded me of Read More

Thoughts in Alabama - 8/22/2019
Sadly, the reviews here about the dangerous police, dangerous crime, corruption of public officials, bad race relations, bottom of the barrel education, and absence of a culture that once existed eons ago are all true. It was a mess there when I lived in it 40 years ago, and recent visits have shown that in many respects it is worse now. The Quarter or Uptown are fun places, but you take your life in your hands in many areas. Great food, great music, nice place to visit for a week and Read More

New Orleans, corruption, filthy, cursed - 2/20/2019
I lived in New Orleans for 7 long years and I agree with the person that said the culture there is a myth.

What you encounter as a tourist and what you deal with as a resident are 2 completely different things. The residents still whine about hurricane Katrina. The fact is just look it up over $700 Million went missing of federal money that was given to New Orleans. Its never been accounted for. Now do the math, the politicians are just trash and corrupt to the core.

As a resident the amount of corruption becomes apparent rather quickly, the corruption runs deep and most things tin that town operate througha "good ol boy" club consisting of crooked sheriffs, judges, police and other city officials.

This is not my opinion , but fact I was a resident when Ray Nagin was in office and turns out that he was eventually put in prison for being corrupt. (Likely he was a sacrificial small fry in order to keep the rest of the corrupt system in place and Read More

Hell - 4/7/2018
I ended up on a site that provided reviews of the city of Jacksonville and it sounds like a very potential nightmare. A bit Tulsa meets the worse part of New Orleans. It will be better then Baltimore though! Anyways, it has been nice to spend time with my sisters. I needed some love and stability and this time I found it. I decided to write a review of New Orleans. I think it is kind of funny. I am sure when people read this they are going to be like, wtf. But, oddly I read a review for Jacksonville and it sounded just like mine below, especially the part about jobs not providing contracts and firing for the smallest errors. If you see my contract, it is not contract at all! Makes one wonder.
Here's my rather review of NOLA

New Orleans is like an abusive partner that pushes you to the ground, only to kick you in your gut twice as hard the second time around. During the hurricane season, everyone around you will be in a state of terror as the potential need for Read More

Metairie and New Orleans - 8/18/2015
Metairie is an infinitely better place to live than N.O. proper. It might be a bland suburb, but nearly all of the good schools are here as well as a much, much lower crime rate. The truth is that the people of New Orleans have a love affair with their city which isn't entirely merited. Yes, it has a fabulously unique culture with its music, food, laid back atmosphere, history and friendly people. It's more Caribbean than any other city in America, with all of the good and all of the bad that implies. The local government is abominable, rife with corruption and incompetence. The streets and the schools are a disgrace. Race relations are terrible, and drugs and black on black violence are out of control. Geraldo Rivera did a news piece a couple of years ago about how inmates in the parish prison had access to guns and drugs. The percentage of New Orleanians who had actually been incarcerated in the jail was well over 50%. Throw in the worst police force in America, the sleaze of Read More
